    Aaron Johnson
    Aaron Johnson joined the California Public Utilities Commission in 1999 and has worked as an energy analyst in the Office of Ratepayer Advocates and the Division of Strategic Planning and as an energy advisor to a Commissioner.  At the CPUC, he has led efforts on transmission planning and electricity market design, represented the agency on federal regulatory issues, overseen revenue bond sales, helped shape regulatory policy for energy efficiency and renewable energy projects, and investigated water infrastructure needs.

    Mr. Johnson's experience prior to joining the Commission includes consulting work for an International Energy Agency project on environmental impacts of solar electric power systems; aerospace, optical design, and machine shop internships; and teaching math in an inner-city high school.

    Mr. Johnson graduated from the University of Rochester summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi in optical engineering.  He holds a Master of Engineering Science in electrical engineering from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia, where his research focused on life-cycle analysis of solar photovoltaic systems, and he was the recipient of a Rotary Foundation fellowship.
