    Emerging Renewables

    An enhanced supply of emerging renewable resources reduces the overall cost of renewable energy through economies of scale and lowers the cost of electricity.  Thus, DRA supports cost-effective investment in new renewable technology research and often recommends that the utilities seek contributions to fund their emerging renewable programs from other sources, including their shareholders.

    DRA believes that the benefits of successful renewable research inure to all parties, ratepayers and shareholders included, and will continue to ensure that ratepayers do not bear more than their fair share of the cost of improving the state’s renewable energy resources.
